Miision:
Hello and Welcome to the Kasson Minnesota Skywarn Amateur Radio Club. We welcome all amateur radio operators and GMRS operators
to this family. Our goal is to promote the radio hobby and to help our community through Radio Communication, Weather Observation,
and Hands On Work. Kasson Skywarn mainly monitors weather in and around the Kasson area. Areas covered by us are: Kasson, Mantorville, Dodge Center,
Rural Areas.
Meetings:
We meet on the first Wednesday of the month for business meeting and the second Wednesday for training. We work hard to provide our community with
the best service we can provide.
Training:
We Train in Weather Spotting, Radio Communications, FEMA ICS, and CERT certification. The information we give to the National Weather Service and
to the Dodge County Sheriff Department are very important. So We work hard to provide Clear and Precise detail to both Departments. Our information
that we give out determines if Cell Phone or the Town's Sirens will be activated. We like to get things Right the first time, Every Time.
Club's Repeater:
[ 442.400MHz - PL: 100.0 +5.0 Step ] & [ 462.675MHz PL: 141.3 +5.0 Step ] We do has a 2 small repeater for the City of Kasson. Do to storm damages from
last years (2024). The repeater is being rebuild and is in testing mode. This limits the power used to 5watts. The main issue is the "rick box" used
to connect both receive radio and the transmitter radio together.
